RPCL officially donated a firetruck to the Office of the Civil Protection through the Ministry of Interieur.

The function was officiated by the Permanent Secretary, in charge of Security in the Ministry of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security, Brigadier General of Police NDAYISABA Richard and the representative of RPCL Mr. Ghad KUBWIMANA, in charge RPCL of Corporate Social Responsibility. The handover was held in Sororezo area at the Directorate General of Disaster Management and Civil ProtectionProtection led by Maj. Gen. Roger NDIKUMANA.
RPCL is always committed to contribute to the socio-economic benefits and the wellbeing of member countries through enhancing health safety, in disaster management, firefighting in this case in the areas near by the Rusumo but especially to the communities of Buhumuza Province, Butihinda Commune in Muyinga and in Butanyerera Province, Busoni Commune.
The donation of this truck is an important philanthropic act that impacts Shareholders’ communities neighboring Rusumo Power Plant. This truck is a Mercedes Benz ARCOS model with a value of Seven Hundred and Two Thousand and Four Hundred Euro. The truck is a equipped with modern tools specialized in disaster management and firefighting. More than 10 Burundian personnel were trained by Rosenbauer Group in Bujumbura from September 29 to October 3, 2025. The training focused on understanding the technical features of the Mercedes-Benz IVECO firetrucks and ensuring their safe and proper operation.
RPC commended all partners involved in the successful delivery of this firetruck, we strongly believe that this equipment will serve the purpose and support the Civil Protection activities”, said Mr. KUBWIMANA RPCL Corporate Social Responsibility, in his donation speech representing the Managing Director. We also recognize the effort of the beneficiaries, the Office of the Civil Protection for their commitment to enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of Burundi people”, he added.
A demonstration on the functionality of the truck was performed; a presentation of functionality and main components of the truck was showcased to ceremony’s invitees including the working principle of the N35 pump series, priming pump, foam proportioning system, screw down valves, pump drive sha and brake, water tank and suction line, chassis and superstructure, roller shutter as well as some equipment.
The Permanent Secretary in Burundi Ministry of Interieur acclaimed the donation from RPCL which a tool of paramount importance in disaster management. “We will ensure good use of this truck in the Buhumuza and Butanyerera Provinces.
